BARREN CO., Ky. (WBKO) — The Barren County school district is hosting a community sponsored computer science class for teens and adults.
This program is one of few like it in Kentucky.
Fifty students were accepted into this class to help prepare them for a dynamic technological workforce.
The project manager wants to show the community that they can excel in computer sciences.
“We just want to show the individuals, and the students, and the adults of Barren County that they are capable of filling that tech skill gap. We just have to provide them opportunities,” says Justin Browning Project manager of Barren County App Skills.
This program is made up of a broad spectrum of people: some with college degrees, all the way to a junior in high school.
The students will be creating IOS applications for Apple products. The program provides the use of MacBook pros.
Classes officially start on Monday.
